The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a man wakes his wife at night and they pray together, or he prays two units of prayer with her, they are recorded among the men and women who remember Allah often."Ibn Kathir did not raise this report to the Prophet, nor did he mention Abu Hurayrah. He treated it as the words of Abu Saeed.
حدثنا ابن كثير حدثنا سفيان عن مسعر عن علي بن الأقمر ح و حدثنا محمد بن حاتم بن بزيع حدثنا عبيد الله بن موسى عن شيبان عن الأعمش عن علي بن الأقمر المعنى عن الأغر
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا أيقظ الرجل أهله من الليل فصليا أو صلى ركعتين جميعا كتبا في الذاكرين والذاكرات ولم يرفعه ابن كثير ولا ذكر أبا هريرة جعله كلام أبي سعيد
[Its chain is daif] Ibn Majah reported it in "Establishing the Prayers," chapter on what has been said about one who wakes his family at night, hadith no. 1335, from the hadith of Shayban, with this wording, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, hadith no. 645. Sufyan and Amash are both known for tadlis, and they narrated using "an" (indicating an indirect transmission). The hadith also has other daif chains.
