The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you has prayed the two units before the dawn prayer, let him lie down on his right side."Marwan bin Hakam said to him, "Is it not enough for one of us to walk to the mosque, without also having to lie down on his right side?"Ubaydullah said in his version of the report, He replied, "No."Word of this reached Ibn Umar, who remarked, "Abu Hurairah has burdened himself with too much."Someone asked Ibn Umar, "Do you reject anything he reports?"He answered, "No, but he was bold while we held back."When this reached Abu Hurairah, he said, "What fault is it of mine if I remembered while they forgot?"
Its chain is daif.Tirmidhi transmitted it in the chapter on Prayer, in the section on lying down after the two rakahs of Fajr, hadith 420, from the hadith of Abdul-Wahid, with this chain, and said, "Hasan sahih gharib." Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 1120, as did Ibn Hibban, hadith 612.Amash is a mudallis, as mentioned before at hadith 14, and I did not find him explicitly stating that he heard it.
