The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit us. She narrated to us that he said, "Pour out water for me to perform ablution." She then described the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying that he washed his hands three times, washed his face three times, rinsed his mouth and nose once, washed his arms three times each, wiped his head twice, starting from the back of his head and then the front, and wiped both his ears, their outer and inner sides, and washed his feet three times each.
[Hasan] Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Purification, chapter on what has been said about starting with the back of the head, no. 33, from the hadith of Bishr bin Mufaddal by this route, and he said, "Hasan." Ibn Majah also narrated it, no. 390. Ibn Aqeel is daif according to the more correct view, the majority having weakened him. The hadith has supporting narrations in Ibn Khuzayma, nos. 148, 152, and elsewhere.
