With this account, she said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the takbir, and the group that lined up with him said the takbir as well. Then he bowed and they bowed, then he prostrated and they prostrated, then he raised his head and they raised theirs. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained seated while they performed their second prostration on their own. Then they stood and stepped backward, walking in reverse, until they took position behind the others.The other group then came forward, stood, and said the takbir. They bowed on their own, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrated and they prostrated with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood while they performed their second prostration on their own.Then both groups stood together and prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He bowed and they bowed, then he prostrated and they all prostrated together, then he prostrated a second time and they prostrated with him quickly, with the utmost haste, striving without slackening in their speed.Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the salam and they said the salam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then rose, having had the people share with him in every part of the prayer.
قال أبو داود وأما عبيد الله بن سعد فحدثنا قال حدثني عمي حدثنا أبي عن ابن إسحق حدثني محمد بن جعفر بن الزبير أن عروة بن الزبير حدثه أن
بهذه القصة قالت كبر رسول الله ﷺ وكبرت الطائفة الذين صفوا معه ثم ركع فركعوا ثم سجد فسجدوا ثم رفع فرفعوا ثم مكث رسول الله ﷺ جالسا ثم سجدوا لأنفسهم الثانية ثم قاموا فنكصوا على أعقابهم يمشون القهقرى حتى قاموا من ورائهم وجاءت الطائفة الأخرى فقاموا فكبروا ثم ركعوا لأنفسهم ثم سجد رسول الله ﷺ فسجدوا معه ثم قام رسول الله ﷺ وسجدوا لأنفسهم الثانية ثم قامت الطائفتان جميعا فصلوا مع رسول الله ﷺ فركع فركعوا ثم سجد فسجدوا جميعا ثم عاد فسجد الثانية وسجدوا معه سريعا كأسرع الإسراع جاهدا لا يألون سراعا ثم سلم رسول الله ﷺ وسلموا فقام رسول الله ﷺ وقد شاركه الناس في الصلاة كلها
[Its isnad is hasan] Ahmad narrated it, 6/275, from the hadith of his uncle Yaqub bin Ibrahim bin Saad, with this wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, h: 1363, as did Ibn Hibban, h: 589, and Hakim, according to the standard of Muslim, 1/336, 337, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
