The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on the day of Eid al-Fitr and prayed two rakahs, neither praying before them nor after them. Then he came to the women, accompanied by Bilal, and instructed them to give charity. The women began tossing their earrings and necklaces.
Bukhari narrated it in "Eids," chapter, "The Sermon after the Eid," no. 964, and Muslim narrated it in "Prayer of the Two Eids," chapter, "Not Praying before the Eid Prayer and after It in the Prayer Ground," no. 884, after no. 890, from the hadith of Shubah, through the same chain.
