I bear witness regarding Ibn Abbas, and Ibn Abbas bore witness regarding the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, that he went out on the day of Eid al-Fitr and prayed, then delivered the sermon, then came to the women with Bilal accompanying him.Ibn Kathir said, "What I know best of Shuba's transmission is that he commanded them to give charity, and they began to throw down their jewelry."
حدثنا حفص بن عمر حدثنا شعبة ح و حدثنا ابن كثير أخبرنا شعبة عن أيوب
أشهد على ابن عباس وشهد ابن عباس على رسول الله ﷺ أنه خرج يوم فطر فصلى ثم خطب ثم أتى النساء ومعه بلال قال ابن كثير أكبر علم شعبة فأمرهن بالصدقة فجعلن يلقين
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Knowledge, chapter "The Imam's Exhortation to Women and Teaching Them," no. 98, from the hadith of Shubah, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Eid Prayers, chapter 1, no. 884, from the hadith of Ayub, through the same chain.
