Ibn Umar used to lengthen his prayer before the Friday prayer and would pray two units of prayer afterward in his home. He would relate that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do the same.
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا إسمعيل أخبرنا أيوب
كان ابن عمر يطيل الصلاة قبل الجمعة ويصلي بعدها ركعتين في بيته ويحدث أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يفعل ذلك
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] See the previous hadith. Ibn Mulaqqin graded it sahih according to the standard of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) (Tuhfat al-Muhtaj: 1/398, no. 433).
