Sulayk Ghatafani came in while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the sermon, and the Prophet asked him, "Have you prayed anything?"Sulayk replied, "No."The Prophet said, "Then pray two units of prayer, and keep them brief."In another version he added that the Prophet then turned to the people and said, "When one of you arrives while the prayer leader is delivering the sermon, let him pray two units of prayer, keeping them brief."
حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل حدثنا محمد بن جعفر عن سعيد عن الوليد أبي بشر عن طلحة أنه سمع جابر بن عبد الله يحدث أن سليكا جاء فذكر نحوه زاد ثم أقبل على الناس قال إذا جاء أحدكم والإمام يخطب فليصل ركعتين يتجوز فيهما
