The Prophet ﷺ used to deliver two sermons. When he ascended the pulpit, he would sit until the muadhin finished, I think he said. Then he would stand and deliver a sermon, then sit without speaking, then stand again and deliver another sermon.

[Its chain is daif]. Bayhaqi narrated it, 3/205, through Abu Dawud's route, and see hadith 1095. Its basis is found in Bukhari, hadith 928, from Nafi with the wording, "The Prophet ﷺ would deliver two sermons, sitting between them."Abdullah Umari, from Nafi, is strong. Abdul-Wahhab bin Ata is a mudallis, and he narrated it using "an," but Bukhari's hadith 928 makes it unnecessary.
