Ibn Abu Mulayka was asked about ablution, and he said, "I saw Uthman bin Affan being asked about ablution. He called for water, and a vessel was brought to him. He tilted it over his right hand, then dipped his hand into the water. He rinsed his mouth three times, sniffed water into his nose and blew it out three times, and washed his face three times. Then he washed his right hand three times and his left hand three times. Then he dipped his hand in, took some water, and wiped his head and his ears, washing their inner and outer surfaces once. Then he washed his feet."Then Uthman said, "Where are those who were asking about ablution? This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution."
حدثنا محمد بن داود الإسكندراني حدثنا زياد بن يونس حدثني سعيد بن زياد المؤذن
سئل ابن أبي مليكة عن الوضوء فقال رأيت عثمان بن عفان سئل عن الوضوء فدعا بماء فأتي بميضأة فأصغاها على يده اليمنى ثم أدخلها في الماء فتمضمض ثلاثا واستنثر ثلاثا وغسل وجهه ثلاثا ثم غسل يده اليمنى ثلاثا وغسل يده اليسرى ثلاثا ثم أدخل يده فأخذ ماء فمسح برأسه وأذنيه فغسل بطونهما وظهورهما مرة واحدة ثم غسل رجليه ثم قال أين السائلون عن الوضوء هكذا رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يتوضأ
