I saw Uthman bin Affan perform wudu. He poured water over his hands three times and washed them, then rinsed his mouth and blew water from his nose. Then he washed his face three times, and washed his right arm up to the elbow three times, and the left one the same way. Then he wiped his head, then washed his right foot three times, and the left one the same way. Then he said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform wudu just as I have done, and then he said, 'Whoever performs wudu as I have done and then prays two units of prayer without letting his mind wander during them, Allah will forgive him his past sins.'"In another version of this report he said that he wiped his head three times, then washed his feet three times, and then said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform wudu like this." And he said, "Whoever performs wudu with less than this, it will suffice him." He did not mention the matter of the prayer.
