He prayed with the Prophet ﷺ, who used to turn away from either side after the prayer.
حدثنا أبو الوليد الطيالسي حدثنا شعبة عن سماك بن حرب
أنه صلى مع النبي ﷺ وكان ينصرف عن شقيه

Its isnad is hasan. Tirmidhi transmitted it in his chapter on turning away to one's right or left after prayer, no. 301, from the hadith of Simak bin Harb, and he said, hasan. Ibn Majah also narrated it, nos. 809 and 929.
