The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Is any one of you unable," (according to Abd al-Warith's narration) "to step forward, step back, move to his right, or move to his left?"In Hammad's narration there is an addition, "in the prayer," meaning in the voluntary prayer.
[Its chain is daif]. Ibn Majah narrated it in Iqamat al-Salawat, chapter on the voluntary prayer being performed where the obligatory prayer was performed, no. 1427, from the hadith of Layth bin Abu Salim, with this wording. Bukhari mentioned that the wording of this hadith is not sahih, see no. 848. Hafiz said, Layth bin Abu Salim is daif in memory, and Abu Hatim said Ibrahim is "unknown," Taghliq Taliq (3372).
