[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Tirmidhi narrated it in the chapter on Prayer, in the section on the report that lightening the salam is a sunnah, hadith no. 297, from the hadith of Uzai, with this wording, and he said, hasan sahih. It is also found in the Musnad, 2/532. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith no. 734, as did Hakim, who said it meets the criteria of Muslim, 1/231, and Dhahabi agreed with him.Zuhri was mentioned earlier at no. 785, and he did not explicitly state that he heard it directly.
