"When I die, do not announce my death, for I fear it would be a death announcement. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid the death announcement."This is a hasan sahih hadith.
حدثنا أحمد بن منيع حدثنا عبد القدوس بن بكر بن خنيس حدثنا حبيب بن سليم العبسي عن بلال بن يحيى العبسي
إذا مت فلا تؤذنوا بي إني أخاف أن يكون نعيا فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ ينهى عن النعي هذا حديث حسن صحيح
[Its isnad is daif] It was also recorded by Ibn Majah in the Book of Funerals, chapter on the prohibition of announcing deaths, hadith no. 1476, from the hadith of Habib Absi with the same wording. Ibn Main said about Bilal bin Yahya, "His narration from Huzaifa is mursal," and this is why the hadith is weakened.
