The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever breaks a bone or becomes lame is released from his ihram, and he must perform another Hajj."I mentioned this to Abu Hurairah and Ibn Abbas, and they both said, "He has spoken the truth."Ishaq bin Mansur narrated to us, Muhammad bin Abdullah Ansari informed us, from Hajjaj, a similar report. He said, "And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say..."
حدثنا إسحق بن منصور أخبرنا روح بن عبادة حدثنا حجاج الصواف حدثنا يحيى بن أبي كثير عن عكرمة قال
قال رسول الله ﷺ من كسر أو عرج فقد حل وعليه حجة أخرى فذكرت ذلك لأبي هريرة وابن عباس فقالا صدق حدثنا إسحق بن منصور أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله الأنصاري عن الحجاج مثله قال وسمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول
[Its chain is sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Rites, Chapter on Being Prevented from Completing the Pilgrimage, no. 1862, as did Ibn Majah, no. 3077, and Nasai, 5/198, no. 2863, from the hadith of Hajjaj al-Sawwaf through this same route. Hakim graded it sahih according to the standard of Bukhari, 1/470, 483, and Dhahabi agreed with him. It has been criticized on a point that does not undermine it.
