I asked Ali, "With what were you sent?"He replied, "With four matters. None shall enter Paradise except a Muslim soul. No one shall circumambulate the House while naked. The Muslims and the polytheists shall not gather together after this year of theirs. And whoever has a covenant with the Prophet ﷺ, his covenant stands until its appointed term, while whoever has no fixed term, his term is four months."
حدثنا علي بن خشرم أخبرنا سفيان بن عيينة عن أبي إسحق
سألت عليا بأي شيء بعثت قال بأربع لا يدخل الجنة إلا نفس مسلمة ولا يطوف بالبيت عريان ولا يجتمع المسلمون والمشركون بعد عامهم هذا ومن كان بينه وبين النبي ﷺ عهد فعهده إلى مدته ومن لا مدة له فأربعة أشهر
[Sahih] Ahmad narrated it: 1/79, from Sufyan bin Uyayna with the same chain, and he explicitly stated hearing it directly, Humaydi, no. 48, and Hakim graded it sahih: 4/178, and Dhahabi agreed. Shuba also narrated it from Abu Ishaq with the same chain, and it has many corroborating narrations in Nasai, no. 2961, and Hakim: 4/179, and others.
