The Prophet ﷺ was asked which form of Hajj is best. He replied, "Raising the voice in talbiyah and the shedding of sacrificial blood."
حدثنا محمد بن رافع حدثنا ابن أبي فديك ح و حدثنا إسحق بن منصور أخبرنا ابن أبي فديك عن الضحاك بن عثمان عن محمد بن المنكدر عن عبد الرحمن بن يربوع
أن النبي ﷺ سئل أي الحج أفضل قال العج والثج
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Ibn Majah narrated it in the Chapters on Rites, the Chapter on the talbiyah, hadith no. 2921, from the hadith of Ismail bin Ayyash with this wording, and he explicitly stated that he heard it directly. Ubayda bin Humayd corroborated him. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih (4/176, hadith no. 2634), as did Hakim (1/451), stating it met the standard of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and Dhahabi agreed with him.There is also a report on this subject from Ibn Umar [Ibn Majah, hadith no. 2899] and from Jabir [Ibn Majah, hadith no. 2925].
