حدثنا قتيبة عن مالك بن أنس عن ابن شهاب عن محمد بن عبد الله بن الحارث بن نوفل أنه سمع سعد بن أبي وقاص والضحاك بن قيس وهما يذكران التمتع بالعمرة إلى الحج فقال الضحاك بن قيس لا يصنع ذلك إلا من جهل أمر الله
بئس ما قلت يا ابن أخي فقال الضحاك بن قيس فإن عمر بن الخطاب قد نهى عن ذلك فقال سعد قد صنعها رسول الله ﷺ وصنعناها معه قال هذا حديث صحيح
[Its chain is hasan]. Nasai also related it in the Book of Rites of Hajj, Chapter on Tamattu, 5/152, hadith 2735, from Qutayba, with the same chain. It is also found in Muwatta, 1/344 (Yahya's narration), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (al-Ihsan), 3928."He had done it" means he permitted it and allowed it, as stated by Ibn Abdul-Barr in Tamhid, 8/360.Zuhri heard it from Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Harith.
