The Prophet ﷺ performed three pilgrimages, two before his migration and one after his migration, which was combined with an Umrah. He drove sixty-three sacrificial camels, and Ali brought the remainder from Yemen, among them a camel that had belonged to Abu Jahl with a silver ring in its nose. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed them, then ordered that a piece be taken from each camel and cooked, and he drank from its broth.
حدثنا عبد الله بن أبي زياد الكوفي حدثنا زيد بن حباب عن سفيان عن جعفر بن محمد عن أبيه
أن النبي ﷺ حج ثلاث حجج حجتين قبل أن يهاجر وحجة بعد ما هاجر ومعها عمرة فساق ثلاثة وستين بدنة وجاء علي من اليمن ببقيتها فيها جمل لأبي جهل في أنفه برة من فضة فنحرها رسول الله ﷺ وأمر رسول الله ﷺ من كل بدنة ببضعة فطبخت وشرب من مرقها
[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Rites of Hajj, Chapter on the Hajj of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, hadith no. 3076, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, transmitting it, and he used the form "an" without specifying direct hearing. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith no. 3056. The hadith of Ibn Abbas has two defects, and it has a corroborating mursal report in Bayhaqi, 4/342.
