When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in spiritual retreat, he would bring his head close to me so I could comb his hair, and he would not enter the house except for a human need.
حدثنا أبو مصعب المدني قراءة عن مالك بن أنس عن ابن شهاب عن عروة وعمرة
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا اعتكف أدنى إلي رأسه فأرجله وكان لا يدخل البيت إلا لحاجة الإنسان
Sahih. Baghawi also reported it in Sharh al-Sunnah, 6/397, hadith 1836, through the route of Abu Musab, and it is found in the Muwatta narrated by Abu Musab, 1/331, hadith 860 (the hadith is also in the Muwatta narrated by Yahya, 1/312), and in Sahih Muslim, hadith 297, in abridged form, from the hadith of Urwa bin Zubayr, from Amra bint Abdul-Rahman, from Ayesha, with the same wording. The hadith of Layth follows after it.
