The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days."The companions asked, "Messenger of Allah, not even jihad in the path of Allah?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Not even jihad in the path of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and his wealth and returns with nothing of either."
[Sahih]. Ibn Majah relates it in the Book of Fasting, Chapter on Fasting the Ten Days, no. 1727, from the hadith of Abu Muawiya al-Darir, and Bukhari relates it in the Book of the Two Eids, Chapter on the Merit of Deeds in the Days of Tashriq, no. 969, from the hadith of Amash, with slight differences. On this topic there are also narrations from Ibn Umar [Ahmad: 2/75, 131, 132], Abu Hurairah [to come: 758], Abdullah bin Amr 2/75, [Ahmad: 2/167, 223], and Jabir [Ibn Hibban, no. 1006, 1045]. Abu Muawiya was followed by Shubah.
