The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out with the people to pray for rain. He led them in two units of prayer, reciting aloud, then turned his cloak inside out, raised his hands, faced the qiblah, and prayed for rain.
حدثنا يحيى بن موسى حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري
أن رسول الله ﷺ خرج بالناس يستسقي فصلى بهم ركعتين جهر بالقراءة فيها وحول رداءه ورفع يديه واستسقى واستقبل القبلة
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim), and Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Rain Prayer, Chapter on Reciting Aloud in the Rain Prayer, no. 1024, and Muslim, no. 894, from the hadith of Zuhri through this route.
