In the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we would neither eat our midday meal nor take our midday rest until after the Friday prayer.

Agreed upon. Muslim also reported it, in the book of Friday prayer, the chapter on the Friday prayer when the sun declines, hadith 859, from Ali bin Hajar, and Bukhari, hadith 939, from the hadith of Abu Hazim, through this chain.There is also a narration on this subject from Anas bin Malik [Bukhari, hadith 940].
