No one ever told me that they saw the Prophet ﷺ pray the forenoon prayer except Umm Hani. She reported that on the day of the conquest of Mecca, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered her house, performed a full bath, and then prayed eight rakahs. I never saw him pray a prayer lighter than this one, though he still completed the bowing and prostration properly.
حدثنا أبو موسى محمد بن المثنى حدثنا محمد بن جعفر أخبرنا شعبة عن عمرو بن مرة
ما أخبرني أحد أنه رأى النبي ﷺ يصلي الضحى إلا أم هانئ فإنها حدثت أن رسول الله ﷺ دخل بيتها يوم فتح مكة فاغتسل فسبح ثمان ركعات ما رأيته صلى صلاة قط أخف منها غير أنه كان يتم الركوع والسجود
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Muslim also narrated it in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers, in the chapter on the desirability of the Duha prayer, etc., hadith no. 80/336, after hadith no. 719, from Muhammad bin Muthanna, and Bukhari, hadith no. 1176, from the hadith of Shubah, with the same wording.
