I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There are no two witr prayers in one night."

[Its chain of transmission is sahih]. Nasai also recorded it in 3/229, 230, no. 1680, Qiyam al-Layl, chapter on the Prophet's ﷺ prohibition of praying two odd-numbered prayers in one night, from Hannad bin Sari, in a longer form. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 1101, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 671, and Hafiz Ibn Hajar graded it hasan in Fath al-Bari, 2/481.
