He used to say, "If I saw gazelles grazing in Madinah, I would not startle them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared that what lies between its two lava tracts is sacred."

أنه كان يقول لو رأيت الظباء ترتع بالمدينة ما ذعرتها إن رسول الله ﷺ قال ما بين لابتيها حرام
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim].
