We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until we reached the lava field of Suqya, which belonged to Saad bin Abu Waqqas. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bring me water for ablution."He performed ablution, then stood facing the qiblah and said, "O Allah, Ibrahim was Your servant and Your close friend, and he prayed for the people of Makkah to be blessed. I am Your servant and Your Messenger, and I pray to You for the people of Madinah, that You bless them in their mudd and their saa, twice as much as You blessed the people of Makkah, blessing upon blessing."
Its isnad is sahih. Nasai also reported it in al-Kubra, no. 4270, from Qutayba with the same chain, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 209, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 232. It has many corroborating narrations, see no. 3454.There is also a narration on this topic from Ayesha [he may be referring to the hadith of Bukhari, no. 1889, and Muslim, no. 1376, and Ahmad, 6/239], and from Abdullah bin Zayd bin Aasim [Bukhari, no. 2129], and from Abu Hurairah [previously mentioned, no. 3454].
