The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of the houses of the Ansar are the houses of Banu Najjar, then the houses of Banu Abd al-Ashhal, then Banu Harith bin Khazraj, then Banu Saidah, and in all the houses of the Ansar there is good."Saad said, "I see that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has given preference to others over us."It was said to him, "He has given you preference over many."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت قتادة يحدث عن أنس بن مالك
قال رسول الله ﷺ خير دور الأنصار دور بني النجار ثم دور بني عبد الأشهل ثم بني الحارث بن الخزرج ثم بني ساعدة وفي كل دور الأنصار خير فقال سعد ما أرى رسول الله ﷺ إلا قد فضل علينا فقيل قد فضلكم على كثير
Agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim. Bukhari reported it in the Merits of the Ansar, chapter on the merit of the households of the Ansar, no. 3789, and Muslim, no. 2511, from Muhammad bin Bashshar with the same wording. The hadith of Abu Hurairah was reported by Muslim, no. 2512, and the hadith of Muammar was reported by Ahmad, 2/267.
