Amr bin As reported,
Amr bin al-As reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed him as commander of the army of Dhat al-Salasil.He said, "I came to him and asked, 'Messenger of Allah, who is the most beloved of people to you?'"He replied, "Ayesha."I asked, "And among the men?"He answered, "Her father."

عن عمرو بن العاص
أن رسول الله ﷺ استعمله على جيش ذات السلاسل قال فأتيته فقلت يا رسول الله أي الناس أحب إليك قال عائشة قلت من الرجال قال أبوها
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Bukhari transmitted it in Virtues of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, in the chapter after the chapter of the Prophet's saying "Had I taken a close friend," hadith 3662, from the hadith of Abdul-Aziz, and Muslim transmitted it, hadith 2384, from the hadith of Khalid Haddan, with the same wording.
