The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not insult my companions. By the One in whose hand my soul rests, if one of you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud, it would not equal a handful given by one of them, nor even half of it."
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا أبو داود قال أنبأنا شعبة عن الأعمش قال سمعت ذكوان أبا صالح
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا تسبوا أصحابي فوالذي نفسي بيده لو أن أحدكم أنفق مثل أحد ذهبا ما أدرك مد أحدهم ولا نصيفه
Agreed upon (Bukhari and Muslim). Bukhari narrated it in "The Virtues of the Companions of the Prophet," in the chapter after the chapter on the Prophet's statement "If I were to take a close friend," hadith 3673, and Muslim, hadith 2541, from the hadith of Shubah, through this route. It is also found in Musnad Abu Dawud Tayalisi, hadith 2183.
