Umara bin Ammi reported,

When the head of Ubaydullah bin Ziyad and the heads of his companions were brought, they were arranged in the mosque in the open courtyard. I went up to them, and the people were saying, "It has come, it has come!"Then a snake appeared, weaving its way through the heads until it entered the nostril of Ubaydullah bin Ziyad. It remained there for a short while, then came out and went away until it disappeared.Then they said again, "It has come, it has come!" It did this two or three times.This is a hasan sahih hadith.

حدثنا واصل بن عبد الأعلى حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش

عن عمارة بن عمير قال

لما جيء برأس عبيد الله بن زياد وأصحابه نضدت في المسجد في الرحبة فانتهيت إليهم وهم يقولون قد جاءت قد جاءت فإذا حية قد جاءت تخلل الرءوس حتى دخلت في منخري عبيد الله بن زياد فمكثت هنيهة ثم خرجت فذهبت حتى تغيبت ثم قالوا قد جاءت قد جاءت ففعلت ذلك مرتين أو ثلاثا هذا حديث حسن صحيح
