The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prayer of a woman who has reached menstruating age is not accepted unless she wears a head covering."

[Sahih]. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Purification and its rulings, chapter, "If a girl reaches menstrual age, she may not pray without a headscarf," no. 655, and Abu Dawud, no. 641, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama with the same wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 775, as did Ibn Hibban (al-Ihsan), 1708, 1709, and Hakim, 1/251, saying it meets the standard of Muslim, and he was agreed with. It has a sahih corroborating witness with Ibn Arabi in his Mujam Shuyukhih (1996). There is also a report on this subject from Abdullah bin Amr, but we did not find it.
