I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is Zubayr bin Awwam."Abu Naeem added in his version that on the Day of the Confederates, the Prophet ﷺ asked, "Who will bring us news of the enemy?"Zubayr said, "I will."He asked the question three times, and each time Zubayr said, "I will."

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن لكل نبي حواريا وإن حواري الزبير بن العوام وزاد أبو نعيم فيه يوم الأحزاب قال من يأتينا بخبر القوم قال الزبير أنا قالها ثلاثا قال الزبير أنا
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions, Chapter on the Merit of the Scouting Party, h: 2846, from Abu Naeem Fadl bin Dukayn, and Muslim, h: 2415, through the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, with the same wording.
