I said, "Messenger of Allah, the Quraysh sat together discussing their lineages among themselves, and they likened you to a palm tree growing on a dunghill in the ground."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah created the creation and placed me among the best of them, from the best of their groups, and the best of the two divisions. Then He chose among the tribes and placed me in the best tribe. Then He chose among the houses and placed me in the best of their houses. So I am the best of them in soul and the best of them in lineage."

قلت يا رسول الله إن قريشا جلسوا فتذاكروا أحسابهم بينهم فجعلوا مثلك مثل نخلة في كبوة من الأرض فقال النبي ﷺ إن الله خلق الخلق فجعلني من خيرهم من خير فرقهم وخير الفريقين ثم تخير القبائل فجعلني من خير قبيلة ثم تخير البيوت فجعلني من خير بيوتهم فأنا خيرهم نفسا وخيرهم بيتا

[Its chain is daif]. Yaqub bin Sufyan Farsi transmitted it in his Tarikh (Kitab al-Marifah wal-Tarikh 1/497) from Ubaydullah bin Musa via the same chain. Yazid bin Abu Ziyad is daif, a mudallis, and his memory became mixed up.
