His father handed him over to the Prophet ﷺ to serve him. He said, "The Prophet ﷺ passed by me after I had prayed, and he nudged me with his foot and said, 'Shall I direct you to one of the gates of Paradise?'I replied, 'Yes, please.'He said, 'There is no power and no strength except with Allah.'"
حدثنا أبو موسى محمد بن المثنى حدثنا وهب بن جرير حدثني أبي قال سمعت منصور بن زاذان يحدث عن ميمون بن أبي شبيب
أن أباه دفعه إلى النبي ﷺ يخدمه قال فمر بي النبي ﷺ وقد صليت فضربني برجله وقال ألا أدلك على باب من أبواب الجنة قلت بلى قال لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
[Its isnad is hasan]. Nasai also narrated it in Amal al-Yawm, no. 355, from Muhammad bin Muthanna, and Ahmad, 3/422, from Wahb bin Jareer, through the same route. Hakim graded it sahih according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs, and Dhahabi agreed with him, 4/290, 291. The hadith has corroborating narrations.
