The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever eats a meal and says, 'Praise be to Allah who has fed me this and provided it for me without any power or strength on my part,' his past sins will be forgiven."
Its isnad is hasan.Takhrij: Abu Dawud also recorded it in the Book of Clothing, chapter on what one says when wearing a new garment, hadith no. 4023, from the narration of Muqri, and Ibn Majah, hadith no. 3285, from the narration of Saeed bin Abu Ayub with the same wording. Al-Hafiz graded it hasan, and Hakim graded it sahih, 4/192, 193, but Dhahabi disputed him on this. The truth is with Hakim.
