When a man intended to travel, he would say to him, "Come close so I may bid you farewell as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to bid us farewell." He would then say, "I entrust to Allah your religion, your trust, and the conclusion of your deeds."
حدثنا إسمعيل بن موسى الفزاري حدثنا سعيد بن خثيم عن حنظلة عن سالم أن
للرجل إذا أراد سفرا ادن مني أودعك كما كان رسول الله ﷺ يودعنا فيقول أستودع الله دينك وأمانتك وخواتيم عملك
[Its chain is hasan]. Ahmad narrated it: 7/2, from Saeed bin Khuthaym, with the same wording. Nasai also narrated it in Al-Kubra, no. 10357. Hanzala is Ibn Abu Sufyan Al-Jumahi (Atraf Musnad and others). The hadith has another route as well, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the criterion of the two Shaykhs, 2/97, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
