The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are two practices which no Muslim man maintains without entering Paradise. They are simple, yet few are those who act upon them. He glorifies Allah ten times after every prayer, praises Him ten times, and magnifies Him ten times."The narrator said, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ counting them on his hand.He continued, "That makes one hundred and fifty on the tongue, and fifteen hundred on the scale. And when you lie down to sleep, you glorify Him, magnify Him, and praise Him one hundred times. That is one hundred on the tongue, and a thousand on the scale. So which of you commits two thousand five hundred sins in a single day and night?"They asked, "How could anyone fail to maintain them?"He replied, "Satan comes to one of you while he is in his prayer and says, 'Remember such and such, remember such and such,' until he finishes the prayer, and perhaps he does not perform them. And he comes to him while he is in his bed and keeps lulling him until he falls asleep."
Its isnad is hasan. Abu Dawud reported it in the Book of Manners, chapter on glorifying Allah before sleep, no. 5065, and Ibn Majah, no. 926, and Nasai, no. 1349, from the hadith of Ata bin Saaib, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, nos. 539, 540, 2343, 2344.There is also a narration on this subject from Zayd bin Thabit [coming up at 3413], and from Anas, which perhaps refers to the preceding hadith at 481, or to what Ibn Saad reported at 8/426, and Abu Yaala, no. 1537, and Bazzar (Kashf Astar), 4/21, no. 3096, and from Ibn Abbas [mentioned earlier at 410].
