The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Shall I direct you to the master of seeking forgiveness? It is to say, 'O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I hold to Your covenant and Your promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I confess my sins, so forgive me my sins, for none forgives sins except You.' If anyone says these words in the evening and dies before morning, Paradise is assured for him, and if anyone says them in the morning and dies before evening, Paradise is assured for him."
حدثنا الحسين بن حريث حدثنا عبد العزيز بن أبي حازم عن كثير بن زيد عن عثمان بن ربيعة
أن النبي ﷺ قال له ألا أدلك على سيد الاستغفار اللهم أنت ربي لا إله إلا أنت خلقتني وأنا عبدك وأنا على عهدك ووعدك ما استطعت أعوذ بك من شر ما صنعت وأبوء لك بنعمتك علي وأعترف بذنوبي فاغفر لي ذنوبي إنه لا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت لا يقولها أحدكم حين يمسي فيأتي عليه قدر قبل أن يصبح إلا وجبت له الجنة ولا يقولها حين يصبح فيأتي عليه قدر قبل أن يمسي إلا وجبت له الجنة
