The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to mingle with us so closely that he would say to a younger brother of mine, "Abu Umayr, what happened to the little nughayr?"A mat of ours was sprinkled with water, and he prayed upon it.
حدثنا هناد حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن أبي التياح الضبعي قال سمعت
كان رسول الله ﷺ يخالطنا حتى إن كان يقول لأخ لي صغير يا أبا عمير ما فعل النغير قال ونضح بساط لنا فصلى عليه
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Manners, chapter on being cheerful and open with people, hadith 6129, from the hadith of Shuba, and Muslim, hadith 2150, from the hadith of Abu Tayah through him.There is also a report on this subject from Ibn Abbas [Ibn Majah, hadith 1030].
