[Sahih] Hakim reported it, 2/343, from the hadith of Abu Kurayb through this route, and graded it sahih according to the criteria of Bukhari, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Diya included it in al-Mukhtarah, 12/201, 202, no. 219. The hadith has many corroborating narrations in Ibn Saad, 1/435, and Tabarani, 17/286, 287, and others.The hadith of Ali bin Salih was reported by Tirmidhi in al-Shamail, no. 42.
