"And seek forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women" [Muhammad 47:19]. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, I seek Allah's forgiveness seventy times a day."He said, this is a hasan sahih hadith. It is also narrated from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "Indeed, I seek Allah's forgiveness a hundred times a day." It has been reported through more than one chain from the Prophet ﷺ, "Indeed, I seek Allah's forgiveness a hundred times a day." Muhammad bin Amr narrated it from Abu Salama from Abu Hurairah.
حدثنا عبد بن حميد حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة
{واستغفر لذنبك وللمؤمنين والمؤمنات} فقال النبي ﷺ إني لأستغفر الله في اليوم سبعين مرة قال هذا حديث حسن صحيح ويروى عن أبي هريرة أيضا عن النبي ﷺ قال إني لأستغفر الله في اليوم مائة مرة وقد روي من غير وجه عن النبي ﷺ إني لأستغفر الله في اليوم مائة مرة ورواه محمد بن عمرو عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة
Bukhari also narrated it in the Book of Supplications, in the chapter on the Prophet's ﷺ seeking forgiveness during the day and night, hadith no. 6307, from Zuhri through this same chain, and it is also found in Tafsir of Abdul-Razzaq, hadith no. 2882.The hadith of Muhammad bin Amr was narrated by Ibn Majah, hadith no. 3815, and its chain is hasan. It has a corroborating witness narration in Nasai's Kubra, hadith no. 10271.
