A Jew passed by the Prophet ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Jew, tell us something."He said, "What do you say, Abu Qasim, when Allah places the heavens on this, and the earth on this, and the water on this, and the mountains on this, and the rest of creation on this?"Abu Jafar Muhammad bin Salt pointed first with his little finger, then continued in turn until he reached the thumb.So Allah revealed, "They have not appraised Allah with the appraisal due to Him" [Zumar 39:67].
حدثنا عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن أخبرنا محمد بن الصلت حدثنا أبو كدينة عن عطاء بن السائب عن أبي الضحى
مر يهودي بالنبي ﷺ فقال له النبي ﷺ يا يهودي حدثنا فقال كيف تقول يا أبا القاسم إذا وضع الله السموات على ذه والأرض على ذه والماء على ذه والجبال على ذه وسائر الخلق على ذه وأشار أبو جعفر محمد بن الصلت بخنصره أولا ثم تابع حتى بلغ الإبهام فأنزل الله {وما قدروا الله حق قدره}
