The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was forbidden from the various categories of women except those who were believing emigrants. Allah said, "Not lawful to you, [O Prophet], are [any additional] women after [this], nor [is it] for you to exchange them for [other] wives, even if their beauty were to please you, except what your right hand possesses" [Ahzab 33:52].Allah made lawful for him your believing maidens, and "a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet" [Ahzab 33:50].He forbade every woman of a religion other than Islam, then said, "And whoever denies the faith, his work has become worthless, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers" [Maidah 5:5].He also said, "O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their due compensation and those your right hand possesses from what Allah has returned to you [of captives]" until His saying "[only] for you, excluding the [other] believers" [Ahzab 33:50].He forbade all other categories of women besides these.
