When the verse "and you concealed within yourself what Allah was to disclose, and you feared the people" [Ahzab 33:37] was revealed concerning Zaynab bint Jahsh, Zayd came complaining and considered divorcing her. He sought the Prophet's ﷺ counsel, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Keep your wife and fear Allah."
حدثنا أحمد بن عبدة الضبي حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن ثابت
لما نزلت هذه الآية {وتخفي في نفسك ما الله مبديه وتخشى الناس} في شأن زينب بنت جحش جاء زيد يشكو فهم بطلاقها فاستأمر النبي ﷺ فقال النبي ﷺ أمسك عليك زوجك واتق الله
Bukhari also narrated it, in Tafsir, chapter on His saying, "and you concealed within yourself what Allah was to disclose, and you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him", no. 4787, from the hadith of Hammad bin Zayd, through the same chain.
