The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ibrahim never told an untruth about anything except in three instances. His words, "Indeed, I am ill" [Saffat 37:89], though he was not ill. His saying about Sarah, 'She is my sister.' And his words, "Rather, this one, the largest of them, did it" [Anbiya 21:63]."This has been reported through more than one route from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet ﷺ. The version narrated by Ibn Ishaq from Abu Zinad is considered unusual.
[Sahih]. Bukhari also narrated it in the Book of Sales, in the chapter on buying a slave from a warring disbeliever, gifting him, and freeing him, hadith no. 2217, from the hadith of Abu Zinad, in a longer form. Muslim also narrated it, hadith no. 2371, from the hadith of Abu Hurairah.
