Some people came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, do we eat what we kill but not eat what Allah kills?" So Allah revealed, "Eat of that over which the name of Allah has been mentioned, if you are believers in His verses," up to His saying, "And if you obey them, indeed, you would be associators" [Anam 6:118–121].
