The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Hajj is Arafat, the Hajj is Arafat, the Hajj is Arafat. The days of Mina are three. 'Whoever hastens to leave in two days, there is no sin upon him, and whoever delays, there is no sin upon him' [Baqarah 2:203]. Whoever reaches Arafah before the dawn breaks has caught the Hajj."Ibn Abu Umar said that Sufyan bin Uyayna remarked, "This is the finest hadith that al-Thawri narrated."
حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن سفيان الثوري عن بكير بن عطاء
قال رسول الله ﷺ الحج عرفات الحج عرفات الحج عرفات أيام منى ثلاث {فمن تعجل في يومين فلا إثم عليه ومن تأخر فلا إثم عليه} ومن أدرك عرفة قبل أن يطلع الفجر فقد أدرك الحج قال ابن أبي عمر قال سفيان بن عيينة وهذا أجود حديث رواه الثوري
Muslim also narrated it, in the book of Hayd, in the chapter on the permissibility of a menstruating woman washing her husband's head and combing his hair, and the purity of her saliva, and so on, hadith 302, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama.
