By the One in whose hand my soul lies, this verse was revealed concerning me, and I am the one meant by it, "Whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head must compensate by fasting, charity, or sacrifice" [Baqarah 2:196].He said, "We were with the Prophet ﷺ at Hudaybiyah while we were in the state of ihram, and the polytheists had blocked us. I had thick hair, and lice began falling onto my face. The Prophet ﷺ passed by me and said, 'It seems the lice in your hair are troubling you.'"He said, "I replied, 'Yes.'"He said, "Shave your head." Then this verse was revealed.Mujahid said, "The fasting is three days, the feeding is for six poor people, and the sacrifice is a sheep or more."Ali bin Hujr narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us from Abu Bishr, from Mujahid, from Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Layla, from Kaab bin Ujra, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar.
حدثنا علي بن حجر أخبرنا هشيم أخبرنا مغيرة عن مجاهد قال
والذي نفسي بيده لفي نزلت هذه الآية وإياي عنى بها {فمن كان منكم مريضا أو به أذى من رأسه ففدية من صيام أو صدقة أو نسك} قال كنا مع النبي ﷺ بالحديبية ونحن محرمون وقد حصرنا المشركون وكانت لي وفرة فجعلت الهوام تساقط على وجهي فمر بي النبي ﷺ فقال كأن هوام رأسك تؤذيك قال قلت نعم قال فاحلق ونزلت هذه الآية قال مجاهد الصيام ثلاثة أيام والطعام لستة مساكين والنسك شاة فصاعدا حدثنا علي بن حجر حدثنا هشيم عن أبي بشر عن مجاهد عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى عن كعب بن عجرة عن النبي ﷺ بنحو ذلك
